January is the month to celebrate the life and work of William Stafford, both a National Poet Laureate and Oregon's from 1975 to 1990. Here are just some of the many events happening around Portland.

Broadway Books will host their annual Celebration of William Stafford Wednesday, January 14, at 7:00pm.
Linfield College will host their annual William Stafford memorial poetry reading Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the Austin Reading Room of the Jereld R. Nicholson Library.
OPB's Oregon Art Beat will air Discovering William Stafford Thursday, January 16 at 8:00 p.m. on OPB TV. See more air dates.
The Lake Oswego Public Library and The Friends of William Stafford will host their annual William Stafford Birthday Celebration featuring Oregon Poet Laureate Peter Sears, former Oregon Poet Laureate Paulann Peterson, Kim Stafford, and emcee Bill Howe, January 20 at 7:00pm.
